- Answer-first writing — lead with the answer, then support it.
- Extractable structure — clear headings, lists and comparison tables.
- Named facts and figures an engine can quote with confidence.
- Verifiable authority — who said it matters as much as what.
The new scoreboard
Rankings and traffic become leading indicators. The metric that matters is citation share: of the questions your customers ask AI, how often are you the cited answer? Track it weekly and optimize toward it.
